Projects should be managed using a proven and repeatable methodology. Internal auditors need a basic understanding of project management. Without this knowledge, internal auditors may not fully comprehend project management objectives and the associated risks and may lack the ability to assess the design or effectiveness of controls related to those risks.
This course introduces project management concepts and emphasizes the significant role that project management plays in enabling the successful deployment of technology and processes into the enterprise. Further, this course guides internal auditors in building proficiencies for project management-related assurance services by describing the general competencies needed by today’s internal auditors.
